Finding Your Why

As often as I think about this topic, I am reminded of the many reasons it’s so important. I am sure you have heard before that you must find your why in order to find your how. Many people have gone before us giving us living examples of how this works!

Finding your why is almost the same as finding your purpose. We wander through life moving forward; some slow, some fast but often forgetting the why behind what we do. This leads us to a very mundane way of living. Finding purpose in life is absolutely essential.

Gather and create the stories of your life.

If you looked hard enough, you could actually write an amazing story about the life you really want to live. It would be filled with many ups and downs but the end would be one where victory would be yours, you would be inspired and happy and you would watch it over and over again!

Articulate your “Why” through the stories.

Through these stories, you could begin to see the “why” behind certain decisions, why you avoided certain ones and maybe were afraid to play the part in some. You could definitely see your why, the inspiration behind it and the force it created in you!! We are all capable of this!

Refine your “Why” and take action.

You could actually refine this “Why” today and take action towards it. Nothing or no one is stopping you. Life has NO rules that say you can’t live out your why or purpose. This is what life is for…each of us living out the purpose God has for us. Life’s greatest gifts and your happiness are here! We want to inspire you to do this and inspire others to do so as well!

Many of us are afraid to dream, to live out the life that we have called fantasy, while others do it right beside us.

Passion is not enough. It is great but it must be directed toward the “why” in your life. It is not ideal to be passionate about something that is not connected to your why.

If humankind had been held back by fear and assumption, we would never have broken the sound barrier, put a man on the moon or seen the end of slavery.  We must learn to get out of our own way and, inspired by a higher purpose, learn to run toward our dreams.  After all, inspiration, like gravity, is on our side – if we allow it.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is the we are powerful beyond measure.” Nelson Mandela
