For most people strength is not their true goal, more a by-product of
their training. More useful in most cases is the ability to react and
use the strength they already have quickly and safely. In sport this can
be seen in bursts of speed or rapid changes of direction to avoid a tackle.
In life it may be putting your foot out to prevent a fall, or catching
a falling vase or picture. This is known as rate of force production,
and is the goal of this phase.
